The Perfect Eyeshadow Palette

Have you ever found yourself falling madly in love with an item that you store in your makeup drawer? That is exactly what has happened to me, my one true love Dave Franco has taken the backseat to the most beautiful eyeshadow palette I have ever laid my eyes on, it truly was love at first sight. I fell in love with the gorgeous Bobbi Brown Caviar and Rubies palette online actually, I was snooping online for some Christmas presents when I came across the limited edition palette and the colours screamed out to me. I then got to see it up close and personal in Debenhams where I fell even further in love with the creamy, pigmented, unique shades. However, it was Christmas, how could I spend so much on myself so close to Christmas, I had to convince myself I could live without it, but I couldn't. Luckily for me, I was gifted the incredible palette for my Christmas and I could live happily ever after.

The Perfect Eyeshadow Palette

The palette consists of nine matte, shimmer and metallic shades which are golden beige which is a gorgeous shimmering warm beige shade, next is a beautiful sparkling pink toned silver called moon star, the last shadow of the top row is black plum, my favourite shade of them all which is a stunning deep blackened plum shade. The second row begins with a beautiful ash toned beige named wheat, the middle shade, another favourite of mine is gilded, an intense sparkling gold, the end shade of the middle row is cool grey, a shade named perfectly as it is just that, a unique cool grey tone. The last row of shades begins with the shade caviar, a deep blackened brown, next is a beautiful brown shade with gorgeous specks of copper throughout titled black scotch and the last and most intense shade of them all is deep sapphire, titled perfectly once again as it is the most vivid deep sapphire shade I have ever laid my eyes on.

What I adore about this palette is the truly unique combination of shades, it is not often you pick up a palette with just nine shades in it and find a deep plum beside a gorgeous sparkling gold shade or a gorgeous sapphire blue in a palette with a sparkling pink toned silver. These shades are so uniquely stunning that it could be hard to find a good dupe for the combination of shades. Pairing these shades creates stunning eye looks for day and night, making the palette the perfect product for taking on holiday with you, but when sat among your collection using the shadows separately with shades from other palettes can create vivid, deep and stunning looks. The intense shadows are highly pigmented making them worth the money and easy to use. Each shade blends out to perfection and the only shadow that I could fault would be gilded, the intense sparkling gold. This shade although entirely stunning is very shimmery with chunky glitter which does not give a great colour pay off. I think this shade when used alone makes for the most beautiful wet look on your lids and when applied over an intense shade could create the absolute perfect nighttime sparkling diva look you have ever witnessed.

I usually apply a primer onto my eyelids before going near them with shadows, creating a clean slate which enhances the application and colour payoff of the shadows you are using, but to test these shadows I tried using no primer underneath. I applied cool grey, wheat and golden beige to create a soft, neutral smoky eye look. The shadows applied wonderfully, not as smooth as they do with a primer, but I would say they are definitely better than other shadows I have used and do not look chalky at all. I kept this look on for a total of 6 hours and found the shadows kept up really quite well despite a primer underneath with barely any smudging or transferring, the only problem I found was that the shadow I used in my crease, cool grey, settled a little and created a darker line of product despite being blended thoroughly during application. This wasn't noticeable until I inspected my lids at the end of the night, however.

The Perfect Eyeshadow Palette

I am incredibly in love with this palette and think it will be one I will continue to use a lot throughout 2018. Sadly, the palette is limited edition so I won't be able to buy any more, but maybe stockpiling is a possibility here.

I would love to hear what you think of this product? Or Bobbi Brown? Do you recommend any BB products? Tell me in the comments below.
