How to Avoid Dry Skin this Festive Season

Y'know how it is, it's cold outside, the air inside is dry because of the heaters, winter can be horrible on our skin. Most of us tend to get dry skin during the winter months whether it be your face, hands, elbows, feet, I got you covered on how to not let dry skin ruin the festive season for you.

KEEP HAND
CREAMS CLOSE
I have a hand cream in EVERY single bag I own, it's not that I am obsessed, it is because I am forgetful af and wouldn't remember to swap it between bags when I switch. Having a hand cream handy is just that, handy. You should apply it anytime your hands are feeling dried out especially if you're somewhere with the heat on high, going from the cold air straight into high heat dries your skin out rapidly.

USE PRODUCTS
FOR MULTIPLE REASONS
If you have dry elbows like I tend to get during the winter months the best product to use is cuticle butter, my favourite is Lush's Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter, not only does it smells like summer, to keep you powering through winter, but it is also incredibly creamy and moisturising for harsh, dry and even cracked skin.

THERE IS NO EXCUSE
FOR NOT MOISTURISING
Literally, you have no excuse for not having smooth, moisturised skin in this day and age. There are so many quick fixes for keeping your face and body fresh. I have been obsessed with Palmer's Rapid Moisture Spray lotion for well over a year now, it is the perfect quick fix for whenever you are in a rush but need to moisturise your body. It takes seconds to apply and less than 2 minutes to dry.

FIND WHAT
WORKS FOR YOU
There are so many face moisturisers out there, day creams, night creams, night masks, there are thousands of brands, different ingredients, there is a moisturiser out there for everyone. I have used thousands of different moisturisers; high-street, high-end, medical, trust me I have tried them all. I find that natural products work best for me, think The Body Shop, Lush, vegan product because of my sensitive skin. Once you have the right products your skin will be pampered to happiness.

NIGHT MASKS
Overnight masks are incredible for keeping your skin supple and hydrated over the festive seasons. I have been using The Body Shop's Drops of Youth Overnight Bouncing Mask for a few weeks now and every morning I wake up with the most incredibly soft, hydrated and glowing skin. It is absolutely incredible and even got rid of a dry patch of skin by my ear in under a week.

KEEPING YOUR SKIN
GOING THROUGH THE DAY
We have all heard of Fix+ and rose water being a good addition to our beauty and skincare collection, but what they are incredible for is keeping your skin hydrated and glowing throughout the day. If you spray some onto your face throughout the day it can keep your skin from drying out. My biggest tip is to buy a miniature and refill it with your full size so you can pop it in your handbag.

DRINK PLENTY OF WATER
Drinking water is always important, but especially during the festive period, with the increase in alcohol consumption over the festive period, it should be first on your to-do list. Alcohol dries out your skin, so keeping your water levels high every other day and especially the day after is super important.
