Be Your Own Biggest Fan

"She's so full of herself", "Oh gosh, what a brag", "Can he get any more obnoxious?"
We have heard them all, we have most likely said one or two of the above statements before in our lives, but why is there such a problem with people having pride in themselves? Being proud of their accomplishments and their abilities?

It's the same old story; you say you aren't very good and you're told to have faith, to believe in yourself and be proud, you build up your confidence and take pride in your abilities, humbly talk about your accomplishments and you're told you're full of yourself or are obnoxious, you are torn down and told you actually aren't very talented.

How can we make society happy? How can we be both confident and unconfident in ourselves at the same time? The answer is we can't, but it doesn't mean we shouldn't be proud of ourselves, it doesn't mean we should be any less motivated to reach our goals and pass by the obstacles we face. In a society that is always going to be unhappy with what you do you should focus only on what makes you happy and cheer yourself on when no one else does.

I am a big believer in fate, but I also believe that we create our own destiny, sure some things are out of our hands, but in the long haul, our actions and decisions shape our futures. We can't let temporary people and feelings stop us from accomplishing our dreams and doing what makes us happy in life. If that were the case most of us wouldn't be blogging, wouldn't be in the job roles we are in or wouldn't be studying the topic we are studying.

I have always lived by the rule that in order to achieve what you hope to achieve and in order to get the best possible outcome you must give it your all, you must put hard work into everything you do and everything that makes you happy. Even when someone is trying to tear you down you must cheer yourself on.

It is so important that you have thick skin, that you can move past criticism and that you can focus on the bright positivity instead of the dark cloud of negativity. There are always going to be people who dislike you, who dislike what you do and those you are just downright jealous, therein it is always important that you like you and you like what you do. As Elle Woods wisely said, "you must always have faith in yourself".

Of course, there is a fine line between confidence and over-confidence one that people often exceed when they are proud of themselves, but just because you think you're talented or smart, you know that you are pretty or that you are happy with your figure doesn't mean you are over-confident.

Often we reflect our own flaws and insecurities upon other people, if you aren't confident in yourself then you may think that everyone who is even slightly confident is cocky, when in fact, they really aren't. So instead of focusing on what other people are doing and insulting them for their life choices, it is important we wonder why we think this way.

It is important that we are always evolving, always growing and changing and during our lifelong process, we must always be cheering ourselves on, being the motivation behind our life changes and accomplishments.

Are you your own biggest fan? What is one thing you have accomplished that you are super proud of?
