Farewell 2016

2016, oh how you have been a whirlwind, a rollercoaster, a real life horror movie, okay, that last one was quite the exaggeration, but we can all agree that 2016 wasn't the best year. 2016 was a year with quite a lot of memories, lessons, and experiences, some good, some bad, but all in all I have a lot to take with me into 2017.

What I Want from 2017
2017 is nearing and I can't quite believe it, I swear 2016 lasted five minutes.
I feel like I may be a little early with this post, but I have been thinking a lot about new years resolutions, goals for the new year and what exactly I want from 2017.
Unwinding this Christmas

This time of year is so incredibly busy, everyone is rushed off their feet from buying presents to making sure every ingredient for dinner is safely in the kitchen cupboards. It can be a stressful and hectic time for us all, but with Christmas only four days away it is important we take some much needed me time for ourselves this festive season.

How to Avoid Dry Skin this Festive Season

Y'know how it is, it's cold outside, the air inside is dry because of the heaters, winter can be horrible on our skin. Most of us tend to get dry skin during the winter months whether it be your face, hands, elbows, feet, I got you covered on how to not let dry skin ruin the festive season for you.
I Don't Want to Follow You Anymore

So, it's been a while, well not really, it's been a week... I think, I'm not entirely sure.
Life has gone so quickly for the past couple of months, I can't remember the last time I felt sane nevermind the last time I posted a blog post. If I'm completely honest, I am having problems when it comes to blogging.

A Liquid Lipstick that Doesn't Kill your Lips

You all know how big a love I have for NYX, I have never been the biggest fan of drugstore makeup, I tend to find a lot of issues, but since NYX came onto the scene I have looking to them for absolutely every beauty essential. I never in a million years thought a drugstore brand would have liquid lipsticks I can no longer live without, but here we are.

50 Christmas Themed Blog Post Ideas

Hello, hey, hi, bonjour, hola!
It is officially December as of yesterday! I know a whole bunch of bloggers are doing blogmas this year and I tip my hat to them, but sadly I just wouldn't be able to squeeze it into my schedule. Instead, I am going to be posting as normal, three times a week; Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Today I have a little list of post ideas for throughout December, whether you're doing blogmas or not they may be useful to fill in any blog post days you haven't got an idea for yet.

How to do Your Dissertation Right

So you may be aware that my dissertation is underway and I am currently almost finished my first chapter (a week early, yay go me!!) Although I am not finished my dissertation or even close to it, since I began this first chapter I have already learned so much and I want to share those with you.
Whether you have a dissertation coming up or even just an essay, here are my tips for doing it right and efficiently.

A Christmas Pamper Session
Two weeks ago I was invited out to BW Beauty for a preview of the new festive packages the lovely Becca of BW Beauty is releasing this Christmas season. I got to have a back, neck and shoulders massage and then an express facial, also known as The Reviver, there are three other packages on offer and I definitely want to pop by for another sometime.

Am I a Bad Blogger?

Since the beginning of November, life has been pretty damn hectic. When life gets busy I have to put the blog on the back burner. I hate doing it, I absolutely hate not posting on my posting days, I hate not having everything scheduled and ready to go, but life happens.
Does this make me a bad blogger?

My Winter Skincare Routine

I have recently had a bit of a skincare routine switch up. When it gets into winter I tend to be more strict with my routine. Partly due to the fact I am more prone to psoriasis during the drier colder months and partly due to the fact university gives me stress spots. A lot of my skincare routine is items from one of my favourite shops: The Body Shop, so just in case anyone makes any assumptions, this is not a sponsored post.

What Blogging has Taught Me

I had a bit of a nostalgic moment the other day, I saw someone on Twitter reflecting on whether they should start to blog or not and it transported me back in time to when I started heythererobyn.com. I wondered if my life would be much different if I hadn't opted to create my own little corner of the internet. Then I realised just how different my life would be and which lessons I would never have learned.

I'm Dreaming of... these Giftsets?
It's Christmas soon, I mean, Starbucks have got their red cups out and the Christmas lights will be turned on in the cities soon. With Christmas comes Christmas shopping and who doesn't love the giftsets that come out every Christmas? I am a huge fan of giftsets and have put together a list of my favourites. So whether you're looking for a giftset for your friend, your sister, your mum or yourself, I have you covered for the best from Debenhams and Boots.

The Best Burgers in All The Town
I feel like I'm becoming a right little food blogger lately.
I was invited along to the opening of Gourmet Burger Kitchen in Glasgow Fort on Thursday which officially opens to the public today!! Before now I had already tried out GBK before in Glasgow town centre, but I was super excited to check out the new one in the fort. On previous visits to the fort, I have always had such an amazing time, workers in every single store and restaurant are always lovely and the food is always beautiful. So let's see if GBK is any different, shall we?

Winter Weather Wishlist
It is November, it's cold and winter has well and truly begun.
What comes with winter? The opportunity to revamp your wardrobe and add some wonderfully warm jumpers, cosy coats and beautiful boots. It also means the chance to add in some fancy dresses, skirts and heels for the party season ahead. I popped onto one of my favourite clothing websites; ASOS and created a wishlist of cosy clothing to reinvent my winter wardrobe.

How to Grow Your Twitter Following

I recently reached 3000 followers on Twitter, cue the celebrations.
I only reached 2000 earlier this year and within six months I had hit another thousand followers. To me that is insane, I know so many people gain so much more followers within much shorter periods of time, but to me, this is amazing. I decided since my Twitter following has grown so exponentially that I wanted to help anyone looking to grow their Twitter following.

NYX Halloween Makeover
So it's Halloween and Autumn is upon us and you know what that means; oranges, reds, and burgundies are in, big time. If you are anything like me you may be a little scared of colour, especially when it comes to eyeshadow, this post is for you. I got a masterclass in adding autumnal shades to my look with NYX and their amazing new releases.

Be Your Own Biggest Fan

"She's so full of herself", "Oh gosh, what a brag", "Can he get any more obnoxious?"
We have heard them all, we have most likely said one or two of the above statements before in our lives, but why is there such a problem with people having pride in themselves? Being proud of their accomplishments and their abilities?

The Perfect Masks to Multi-Mask

You may be aware that a couple of months ago The Body Shop released their face masks and sheer weeks later L'Oreal released some face masks too. Of course, me being me, I wanted to try them all out, after trying a few samples I settled on one from each brand; The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal mask and L'Oreal Pure Clay Glow Mask and they have slowly become my favourite face masks.

How to Stick to a Blog Schedule

So last week after weeks of missing posts here and there I got my three posts up. I say I post three times a week; Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, but until last week I was getting up two, sometimes even just the one post per week. I hated that my schedule was so bad and so I decided that I was going to take control of my blogging schedule, and this is how I am keeping up with it.
When to go High-end with Your Beauty Products

If you are a beauty fan you know those high-end products constantly draw you in, whether it be the new MAC collection, a new Urban Decay foundation or a Too Faced palette you want it, but why?
Is it because everyone else has it? Because it costs a lot? Or because it is better quality?
With a lot of high-end product you are paying for better quality, but not always, so what products should you splurge on?

Live Life Adventurously
I have a confession to make... I am a massive adrenaline junkie, I love being scared and doing things that are way out of my comfort zone. Life is so much more fun and exciting when you are partaking in adventures. Last week I got the opportunity to do something so exciting and adrenaline filled and I still can't quite explain how happy it makes me to say I done it.

How to Start a Blog

Okay, so you have been reading blogs and watching Youtubers for a while and you think that maybe you would be a good blogger. It all adds up, you love to write, you love to read and you think you would be super successful, what else could you possibly need?

The Beauty Advent Calendars I am Lusting After

It is October, two months until the glorious, wonderful and jolly month of December and you know what that means if you are a beauty addict like myself. It is the month of the beauty advent calendars, most of them go on sale this month, so which one do you go for? There are a lot of them, so let's see which ones I get all heart eye emojis over, shall we?

Let's Get Real

I am sorry. I am angry. I am disappointed.
Blogging can be hard when you have other things going on in your life, we all know it. When your education or your job becomes the main focus of your attention and you start to blog less or squeeze writing your posts into the tiniest time slots of the day. For me, it has happened and I am so upset.

Girls Day Out Blogger Event
Girls Day Out is a three-day event which takes place in Glasgow at the SECC in December from the 2nd until the 4th and this year they invited me along to the Girls Day Out blogger event in preparation for the event. During the Girls Day Out event, you get to purchase as much beauty and fashion items as you want, speak to the incredible brands involved, get makeovers, sip cocktails, enjoy the brilliant entertainment and much more, so what exactly happened at the blogger event...

My Five Favourite Beauty Brands
I am a massive fan of trying out new beauty releases and testing out all different brands, from the high-end brands to the drugstore brands and everything in between, I have tested out my fair share of brands. Throughout my time as a beauty fan and blogger I have taken to some brands better than others and sway towards them more in store, so let me share them with you.

Urban Decay All Nighter Put to the Test

I am sure you have heard of Urban Decay's brand new All Nighter foundation. It's been all over social media for months and has finally been released in the UK, it's said to be full coverage, long-lasting and waterproof. Let's see if it is...
What I Wish I was Told Before University

You might be aware that I started university last year and... this year is my last year. I went straight into the third year of university and up here in Scotland, you do four years for an honours degree. It was hard to adjust to, but I just wish someone had told me a few things before I started, let me tell them.
Achieve Eyebrow Goals with Benefit
If you haven't heard of Benefit's eyebrow line then you have clearly been living under a rock for the past few months, it's been everywhere! Of course, I had to pick up a product or two, I mean I am obsessed with brows and let me tell you how much you need this product.

Autumn Haul

I am back! I took a short week long break due to my personal life, I had a bit of a hectic week, but the shopaholic I am still found a way to spend way too much money and so I'm going to share all of my bits and pieces with you.

The Brushes of All Brushes
It doesn't matter how many expensive palettes you own or how many tutorials you watch on Youtube when it comes to eyeshadows, it is all about the equipment. You should own a good set of eyeshadow brushes... is this Spectrum set the ones for you?

Autumn Wishlist

For me, payday is soon and I cannot wait to update my beauty collection for autumn. I am excited about the berries, the burgundies, the new releases, the stronger brow game can you tell I am excited? Autumn and winter are my favourite seasons, the colder seasons are so filled with joy, happiness and of course new beginnings with the new school/college/uni years so I always love having a little change around this time of year, especially with my beauty favourites.

Understanding Your Skincare

Face wash, cleanser, toner, face masks, moisturiser, day cream, night cream, exfoliators, face brushes, face oils, facials... it can be hard to keep up with all the skincare needs and fads. Do you need to use all of the above, how often do you have to use them?
Don't worry, I've got you covered, the good, the bad and the ugly of skincare.

How Blogging Has Changed Me

If you had met me two years ago as opposed to meeting me now, you would probably met a totally different person, maybe you'd prefer that version, maybe you'd prefer this version, but in many ways I have completely changed. I grew up, I learned and I grew as a person, but for me I also have something else that can take credit for a bunch of these changes: blogging.

University can be super intense, including the weeks leading up to going back. The most fun part and the best way to let off steam from all the stress is to go shopping for university supplies. Whether it's a trip for notebooks and stationary or a trip for some new wardrobe pieces and makeup items for going back. Thanks to St Enoch Centre my shopping trip was made even more fun.

60 Blog Post Ideas

My last blog post idea went down a treat with you lovely folks so I thought I'd write up another. This one is a big list. I have separated 60 different blog post ideas up into three categories; beauty, lifestyle, and fashion. So whichever your niche may be, you'll find a whole bunch of ideas here for yourself.
Taking the Step to Fix An Insecurity

I have a problem, I have had it my whole life, I am hairy. Yes, you read that right, I am hairy. My arms, my legs, my back, oh God, my back. I have dealt with the issue my whole life, my dark hair mixed with my sallow skin means I have dark, noticeable hairs on my body, so I decided I was going to start getting rid of this insecurity as fast as I could.
Products That I Will Always Repurchase

Early morning, you finally get yourself out bed, you've scoffed down the quickest breakfast you've ever made and rush to your mirror to sort your face, I mean it's okay if you're late as long as you look good right? One problem: you've used up all your favourites.

Dealing with Lack of Motivation
I am a very motivated person, for as long as I can remember I have always been motivated to do well, from school to college to uni, blogging, exercising, etc. Although, even with my motivation I can still sometimes get stuck in a slump or wake up feeling like I just want to do nothing all day, but there are ways to push through and find your motivation on those days.

Being Transported to Paradise

So it's August, which in Scotland means summer is over, literally, today it has not stopped raining, we have gale force wind and it's back down to 10 degrees, how wonderful for us Scots? A day at home with a duvet wrapped around me while I binge watch Gilmore Girls was for sure on the cards all week and thanks to Nailbox's July box I was able to be transported to paradise with sun, sea, and sand to keep me from accepting the fact summer is truly coming to an end already.
Life as a Beauty Blogger

Ever wondered what it's like to be a beauty blogger? What our thought process is or how long it takes us to get ready in the morning? Well here is an insight into our lovely little brains with thoughts we all have throughout the day.

Programs My Blog Couldn't Survive Without

Blogging can be hard at times, it takes up a hell of a lot of our time and a whole lot of effort goes into it. From writing posts to taking photos, editing photos, promoting... it's a lot of work, but I love it because I love to blog, I love to write and I love being part of the blogging community. Throughout my time as a blogger, I have learned that we can, however, make these tasks so much easier for ourselves with some amazing programs.
Let's Get Nude

In honour of National Lipstick Day, what a better blog post to post than one about lipsticks. If you know me or follow me on Instagram, you probably notice that I am rarely in a non-nude lipstick. I absolutely adore a nude lip, it is simple, it's classic and allows me to do a more dramatic eye while keeping the lips look simple and chic. MAC lipsticks are my favourite lipsticks to wear, so let me share my top three nude lipsticks by MAC.
We Are Our Flaws

Have you ever looked in the mirror and completely hated what you look like, maybe you have a slow eye, a crooked nose, small lips, whatever your reason may be, we have all taken one tiny flaw and picked at it until it's all we see. Like me, a lot of us have many flaws, flaws we hide, flaws we joke about, flaws we cross our fingers and hope no one ever mentions because once someone else points it out you can't stop thinking about it for weeks.

The NYX way

If you have been reading my blog lately you would know that I have fallen head over heels in love with the beauty brand NYX. I recently heard they opened one in the Glasgow Fort and was ecstatic to be invited along to look at the counter in the Boots there, talk to the NYX gals and try out some of the incredible products.
The Best Italian Chain in Scotland
If you know anything about me you will know my biggest weakness is food and further Italian food. About two years ago, roughly my friends and I found Tony Macaroni, a little Italian chain situated in Scotland. I actually have previously done a little review (click here to see it), but I was recently invited along to review the Tony Mac restaurant at Glasgow Fort and of course I went along... duh!
24hr Foundation Reviewed

I am way behind with this one, but I decided it was time to try the L'Oreal Infallible 24hr Foundation. I did a review of the L'oreal Infallible mattifying primer a good few months back and I adore that primer, I have even bought 2 more since so, it seemed only right I try the famous foundation from the range.
5 Movies Every Woman Has to Watch

I love movies, love, love, love them. My favourite genres seem to be superhero and girl power motivational movies. I am such a sucker for a movie that gives you a sense of inspiration after watching it. I adore movies with a strong female lead which encourage the viewers to go out there and explore, take over the world, so here are a bunch of movies I think every woman should watch for that girl power motivation.

Losing Myself in The Numbers

I am baaack! So if you don't follow me on Twitter, you probably have no idea what I am talking about, but last week I decided it was time to take a little break from blogging. I have quite a few reasons for doing so, but this week I am back on track and back to blogging three times a week; Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
