Urban Decay All Nighter Make Up Setting Spray.

If you haven’t heard of the Urban Decay All-Nighter Makeup Setting Spray where have you been? Recently I have seen this spray everywhere and everyone has been talking about it and how brilliant it is, so I decided that I had to give it a shot, because I am all for anything that helps my make up stay in place all day.

The spray is said to keep your make up looking fresh for up to 16 hours “without melting, cracking, fading or settling into fine lines”. According to the item description it does this by lowering the temperature of your make up to keep everything in place and looking freshly applied while being suitable for all skin types.

The first time I used this product I was heading out to meet friends and have dinner and so on. I applied my make up as I usually would and then I excitedly took this beauty out the box, gave it a good shake and sprayed in onto my face following the instructions, holding the mist 8”-10” from my face and applying it in an 'X' formation.

Obviously I did not take a measuring tape out to make sure it was definitely 8” from my face, but I definitely think it was around that distance. I felt the product land on my face, it didn't feel too wet or sticky and I didn't look or feel greasy after the application.

After about three hours I was in a lift with a mirror and had a little glance at myself, my make up was still perfectly in place, not a smudge, crack or line. It wasn't until I got home later that night that I really inspected my make up, this was now a good 8-10 hours since I put my make up on and it still looked pretty good, bearing in mind it was quite a chilly evening and most of the places I was in had air-con however.

I then used it one morning before a lecture, this time it didn't go exactly to plan. I applied with the 'X' formation once again, but this time I was crammed into a tiny lecture hall with 120+ other students on a humid day with barely any windows open. It got hot and sweaty quickly. Once the lecture was over I went to the toilets and had a glance at myself in the mirror, everything was perfectly in place except my chin where it seemed that my foundation had somehow faded or melted off in the heat.

Now confession time, I do have a pretty greasy chin, I have no idea why, I don’t eat excessively greasy or fatty foods, my diet is pretty healthy, but it’s just the way my chin has always been, so this may not be purely down to the setting spray.

Next time I used the product I tried the 'T' formation where the product would be applied directly to my chin and it worked perfectly, my make up stayed in place even on my pesky, greasy chin. Since trying this method I always apply the spray in the 'T' formation and it works amazingly so I do advise to try both application formations or as I know many people do you can apply it both the 'X' and 'T' formations at once, but personally I find that this doesn't make the slightest difference to me, so try to find an application that both suits you and your skin.

I will 110% be repurchasing this product in the future (apparently in the far future as this product is rumoured to last centuries!)
